Highcon revealed today that LxBxH Verpackung nach Mass from Switzerland, beta testing the Highcon™ Axis web-to-pack solution, has gone live with its online customizable corrugated box ordering system.

LxBxH is a 4th generation family business going back to 1922. Its focus is on corrugated board packaging and being able to adapt to customers’ changes in delivery date. LxBxH is the first customer using Highcon digital cutting and creasing technology for corrugated substrates and installed the Highcon Euclid II in November 2015. Since then, LxBxH has been pushing the limits of the Highcon technology.

Silvano Gauch, CEO at LxBxH said: “I was looking for a solution like this for a long time. Just-in-time production in the quantity our customers want. We no longer have to produce for inventory, we can produce on-demand. When our customers found out what we can do now, they literally leaped at us and the Highcon Axis used in our http://www.web2pac.com makes the order process safe and automated.”

Michael (Miki) Zimmer, Co-founder and COO of Highcon, said: “LxBxH has helped us bring the digital finishing revolution to the corrugated market by being a pioneer in nature and building the required capabilities for this substrate on top of the existing Highcon technological platform. The combination of short run production capabilities and the Highcon Axis Web-to-Pack online ordering platform is a fantastic demonstration of an end-to-end digital process. Extending the technology into corrugated substrates is part of our roadmap and LxBxH is an amazing strategic customer, supporting us in this development.

The Highcon Axis web-to-pack platform is powered by Esko structural engines and XMPie uStore web-to-print platform.

Commenting on the implementation of the Highcon Axis at LxBxH, Jacob Aizikowitz, President of XMPie, a Xerox company, said: “Highcon Axis Web-to-Pack solution brings on-demand to digital packaging, and it leverages XMPie’s market-leading platform for variable data document management. The seamless integration brings the power of XMPie personalization to classic Highcon customers, while also opening the digital packaging business to XMPie customers who have already mastered the digital world in printing or multichannel communications.”
